My Story Matters
I have a passion for photos, stories and the elderly. In 1999, I began working as the Recreational Therapist/Activity Director in an Assisted Living Center. In 2001, I was part of a team of people and created a direct sales company to help individuals record and publish the stories of their life using an online digital publishing platform. I worked on product development and product design for a couple years and then left the corporate office and became a distributor. I built a successful team of women who worked from home and helped people preserve the important stories of their life. We sold the company in 2014 and I started my own company telling the stories of the elderly. I have a team of Life Story Advocates who interview seniors living in Assisted Living centers and we create storybooks (Readers Digest version) of their life for their grandkids and great grandkids to enjoy and come to learn who they are and what their life was like. I started with my My Story Matters as a board member and shortly there after came on as an employee. While at My Story Matters, I have been involved with the finances, grant writing, social media, designing manuals, creating flyers, banners and other marketing materials. I am currently the Creative Marketing Coordinator.
